Track record in web development
We show below a few examples of some web development work we have done in addition to producing this web site.
If you have an opportunity you would like to discuss with us, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
An innovative 'online consultant'
We are helping a government-financed company develop an 'online consultant' to support a new national initiative. The site comes with:
- A collaboration environment developed using Microsoft's Groove that helps manage development of the site and workflow through the quality assurance and release process.
- An authoring environment based on Microsoft Word that allows authors drawn from a very wide range of backgrounds to develop material for the site without having to know the specifics of web site development. The authoring tool also ensures that the site observes relevant xhtml, css and accessibility standards.
The web site uses the latest version (2.0) of the Microsoft ASP.NET tool and makes extensive use of new 2.0 features such as master pages to make it as easy as possible to manage and maintain the site. We also supplied some additional utilities to supplement the .NET management and performance utilities. For example, we developed a tool to release updates to test, acceptance test and production versions of the site automatically.
A global outsourcing company
We took a database system we developed for an international expatriate management company and produced a web-enabled version. The first version was 'read only' designed to allow the company's clients to work with assignee data over the web. The next version allowed the company's consultants to change data over the internet. Both versions included code to synchronise the web version of the database with the original database. The company was therefore able to make the best use of both internet and database technology. The new sites were not a straight conversion of the original database. We used the opportunity to develop a number of new services made possible by internet technology. The site was sufficiently secure to allow the company to store payroll details of senior people in their 'blue chip' clients.
We also made the database availble over the Internet via Citrix as part of an interim solution.
A west end theatre operator
Our client was looking for a way to sell tickets on the Internet directly. It considered a site integrated with its back office system and was being quoted a very large amount of money to do that. We suggested thinking about the new web site as another agency. This made accounting much easier and allowed the site to operate independently of the back office system. This dramatically reduced both cost and complexity. We were able to develop a secure ticket booking site interfaced to production web sites for a fraction of the original quotes. The site was operated entirely by box office staff - including allocating and de-allocating tickets for performances. The site passed inspection by the theatre's credit card company.
An international accounting firm
We developed a sophisticated web site for a network of accounting firms. The site has a large public area that is maintained by non-IT people. It also has a secure private for use by member firms.
The private area allows member firms to work together through a simple interactive site. It supports:
- Online discussion through threaded forums
- Administration of the network including referral and statistics returns
- Distribution of documents and conference proceedings
Support for a DTI initiative
We developed a portal site to support a DTI initiative. The project was an experimental one and the site is no longer available.
We were first asked to review a proposal for a prototype site development project that would have taken a year to produce and a great deal of money. We undertook to develop the full site for a fraction of the cost and it was available in less than six weeks!
A national accounting firm
We created an intranet covering seventeen offices of an accounting firm. The site was delivered for a very low cost per office using Lotus Notes. Data was automatically replicated between the different offices.
The intranet supported communication between:
- Professionals in different disciplines
- Staff working with IT
- People working throughout the organisation
The site ran automatically without any intervention.

The site was sufficiently secure to allow the company to store payroll details of senior people in their 'blue chip' clients.
