An expatriate management business

We developed a database system to meet the needs of a small London-based expatriate management business.

As well as being the operational mainstay for the business, the system became an important marketing tool because it is a unique offering in the industry.

The system allowed the company to grow and was a major factor in its acquisition by an international conglomerate. The company and the system became central to the new organisation which is one of the largest global operations of its kind. We undertook a system architect role for the new business being responsible for:

Marketing databases

We have developed marketing databases for a number of professional firms. They usually interface to the firm's practice management system so that client details are transferred automatically to the marketing database.

Although there are a number of marketing tools available as packaged solutions, firms have found our approach to offer a number of advantages:

A manufacturer of fashion products

Our client already had a system that generated bar codes using UK and international standards for all its products. The system was, however, extremely slow taking over thirty minutes to generate each new code.

We developed a replacement system that not only assigned new codes in under a second but also offered a number of functional improvements over the old one.

Citizens Advice

On a pro bono basis, we developed a local information system for a Citizens Advice Bureau that previously stored all its local information in a large number of bulky files. The database system allows people to find information more quickly and easily and, because it uses web browser technology, allows the CAB to link through to relevant web sites. Use of the tool is now spreading through bureaux all around the country.

As well as being the operational mainstay for the business, the system became an important marketing tool because it is a unique offering in the industry.
