Track record integrating systems and technologies

We show below a few examples of some integration work we have done in addition to producing this web site.

If you have an opportunity you would like to discuss with us, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.

An international currency broker

We developed a number of different interfaces that:

The interfaces encompassed:

A west end theatre operator

Our client used a package to manage its booking, ticketing and agent management systems. Their box office system supplier said it was not possible to produce the analyses they needed.

Even though the database was a complex one, we managed to work together with the client to develop a system that produced the needed reports. Our analyses showed discrepacies when compared to reports produced by the box office system. It was our reports that were accurate.

A global financial services organisation

Our client had to bring together salary and bonus information collected from around the world manually. This was extremely time-consuming and error prone. Working with an internation accounting network we helped design standard data collection spreadsheets that are used in each country to collect payroll data. We wrote routines to validate the spreadsheets (such as major differences in a person's salary from month to month) and capture the data into a single corporate database. We provided tools to analyse the data and to post data directy to the client's ledger systems.

A global expatriate outsourcing company

The company needed to produce accurate, accountable cost projections for its clients when expatriates were considering a new assignment. Each client had different policies. It was important that managers in each client got to try out different 'what if' scenarios (such as different locations and assignment durations). Also each tax firm (and offices within each firm) had different requirements for presenting cost projections so they could produce tax projections.

The normal solution is to produce large, complex spreadsheets containing tables of data used to produce projections. However, these are limited to a single client and in the types of cost that can be projected. It is also very difficult to keep spreadsheets up-to-date and ensure people use the latest versions.

The company tried to develop a web site that produced Excel spreadsheets as output but that proved to be impactical. It needed a better solution - quickly.

We proposed and implemented a novel approach based around an Excel spreadsheet that used windows-based forms to determine individual elements of cost. The twist being that each window was a web page. That eliminated the need to distribute updates ensuring everyone used the latest data. It also meant the company could re-use components across multiple clients. The approach supported very flexible reporting of costs. We also developed it in such a way thay that the supporting data tables could be maintained automatically from data providers or from spreadsheets created by the company itself.

We reduced data entry effort eliminating double, triple and quadruple keying
